Ride Routes

Cyclists can choose from 3 different routes described below.All rides begin and end at Johansen High School in Modesto.

10-mile Ride

35-mile Ride

77-mile Ride

Jinx Family Ride
An easy ride on Modesto’s Dry Creek bicycle trail. This route includes a snack stop just past the mid-point of the ride.

 

 

Ellenwood Ride
This route travels east through the bountiful farmlands of our valley. Route has been slightly changed with the 77 mile route to avoid Waterford Highway.

 

The first part of this ride follows the first portion of the Ellenwood Ride. Then it delves deeply into eastern Stanislaus County, including Knights Ferry, crosses the Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers and travels through the Roberts Ferry covered bridge.

Food

Along each route, riders will find supported rest stops with cycling-specific snacks.

Support

Routes will be marked. Maps will be available at the Registration table. SAG support will be provided on the 35 and 77 mile routes. Cyclists are advised to carry at least one water bottle and carry a spare tube and tools for flats.

Rules

Helmets required. No helmets – no ride. No exceptions. All riders must wear an ANSI approved helmet, carry medical ID and emergency phone numbers. Riders must abide by all traffic laws, street signs and signals, rules of the road, ride single file and stay to the right. Participants under 18 must ride with an adult rider.

Safety

This event is a ride, not a race. Ride safely, be courteous, and obey all traffic laws. It is not unusual to have traffic citations issued for running stop signs and other violations. PLEASE RIDE SINGLE FILE ON ALL ROADS.

Walk up registration will be available Friday, May 12, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Green’s on Tenth located at 953 10th Street, Modesto, CA 95354, and on Saturday, May 13, 2017 beginning at 6 a.m. at Johansen High School.  Online registration opens January 1, 2017. This is a rain or shine event. No refunds.
